Earn Extra Cash with AdWords Strategies

Earn Extra Cash with AdWords Strategies

Ok, so as promised I am going to reveal some of my secrets as to how to earn extra cash online by using AdWords strategies. If you are interested in using AdWords then this post is for you. This is just what has worked for me. I am by no means an expert at using AdWords but I am not a novice at all either. I apologize for the wait but personal circumstances prevented me from posting. For this post I am assuming that you have read my last post and know how to set up an AdWords account and the basics of AdWords. Let’s start with the basics. First things first there are certain terms you should know when using AdWords.

Let’s take a look below at some of the terms you see when using AdWords:

AdWords Terms:

Impressions - number of times your ad is shown.

CTR (Click Through Rate) - Number of times your ad is clicked in relation to the number of impressions you’ve had. 3% or better is good.

Page Position - Where you add ranks on the page when it is show on the search network. The higher the better obviously. Ideally 1-3 Positions.

CPC (Cost Per Click) -Average cost you are paying per click.

Google AdWords Content Network - network of Google’s partner sites and other websites that Google advertises there AdWord or Adsense sites on. You do NOT want to use this when first starting out! Make sure that you turn it off by un checking the box in your AdWords campaign settings menu.

Placements- What sites you specify on the content network for Google to advertise on.

Google AdWords Search Network- Google’s keyword search network. Your AdWords ad appears when people search for certain keywords that you choose. This is what we will be focusing on.

Ad Groups- Groups of ads in an AdWords Ad campaign

AdWords Expectations

I’ve learned from experts. And what I’ve learned is that AdWords is difficult. Now I’ve had some campaigns with great click through rates and no sales. I’ve had some with low click through rates and great sales. If you are going to use AdWords and you do not have a lot of money or time then I would suggest you use other methods free methods of advertising to start out such as forum marketing or article marketing. They are really great ways to earn extra cash on the internet for free. I will cover them more in future post. I’m not saying this to discourage you from using AdWords, I am only trying to set some realistic expectations when using AdWords advertising. With that being said lets get started with Tracking.

Tracking AdWords Performance

Why Get started with tracking? Because you need stats to improve your performance. Let’s say you are getting hits from Panama. You might want to focus on targeting more on Panama or only on Panama exclusively. In addition it not only tells you if where your hits come from tracking also tells you what key words your visitors used, how long they stayed on your page, what search engine they came from what exit links they choose and so forth. You can only imagine the power of tracking and why it is so important to use. There is so much information for you to use to your advantage that not using tracking would be crazy. I use statcounter.com to track my stats but there are plenty of other sources you can use. Stat counter is free to use and the set up is fast (less than 5 minutes).

Your AdWords ROI

On average or at worst (depending on the amount of profit from each sale) you want 1 sale out of 100 clicks Or Not to exceed price of Item you are selling. If you’re selling a 39 dollar item you don’t want to spend 45 dollars to make a sale... Additionally it takes the same amount of clicks to sell a large commission as it does to make a small one. Set your own goals. Use common sense. Common sense will tell you that you want to spend as little as possible to make a sale. You want your ROI (Return On Investment) to be as high as possible.

Formula for ROI - If you paid $100.00 for clicks and you made 150 then your ROI is 150% (150 / 100 = 1.5%). What you made Divided by What you paid = ROI.

Choosing Your AdWords Ads Keywords

You key words are one of the most important categories to discuss when using AdWords. When choosing key words you want to have at least 200 to 400 to start with. Some people have use up to 5000. It’s personal preference in my opinion. You want to have at least 200 to 400 to start with because you are probably are not going to use all of them or may want to use different some of the key words for different ad groups. You want to start with the product name and then also use key words that are directly related to the product. If your advertising a product related to AdWords then you may want to use PPC, Pay Per Click, PPC advertising, Pay Per Click advertising AdWords etc. as some of your keywords. If your ad is not showing once you’ve chose your key words you would want to start your and then increase your bids as necessary. Never start with the max bid. Start at .10 and move up for there. This is a basic AdWords strategy where you start with low bids and then Increase the bids as needed. I’ve had key words that were starting at 3 or 4 dollars for the starting bid that I’ve got at .35 per click.

AdWords Ad Groups

When you create your first AdWords campaign you will be creating an ad group. You can have multiple ad groups for each campaign. Why? Because you want each one of your ads to show as much as possible. Additionally you can have different variations of ads for each ad group. If you have one ad group with 10 variations of the same ad then Google will rotate those ads and show the best performing (unless you choose not to). You may be saying well this is what I want. Yes, but you can get there a lot faster by creating a different ad group. You may have multiple landing pages that you want to test. Again this is where you would create another ad group. The fewer ads you have per ad groups the more impressions you will get per ad. Make sense? You want to have at least 25 – 40 keywords per ad group and not more than 2 to 4 variations of ads for each ad group. From here you will start to scale down and delete non performing or poor performing keywords and ads as necessary. This is your basic AdWords strategy.

AdWords Testing Strategy

Ok this is kind of my own strategy but I probably am not the one who first came up it, however I have not seen it anywhere else yet. When using the AdWords test strategy You pick your niche. If you don’t know how to find one then check out my post on How To Find a Niche. After you’ve found a niche you advertise with AdWords. Not with the intention to make a sale but with the intention of gathering data to see what is hot! See what phrases, keywords etc. that people are using for your niche. You must use tracking like statcounter.com, however to find this information. Then you can use those keywords to build a site and use SEO (search engine optimization) to get to the first page of Google (this is easier than it sounds; I’ll cover in another post as well) for that niche!

The High to Low AdWords Strategy

I have to confess I have not tried this AdWords strategy but I can tell you how it works in theory. The High to Low AdWords Strategy is were you would start with the highest bids possible (maybe even higher then the highest bid) and then work your way down to below biding price. Why would some one want to do that? Well in “theory” this is supposed to do three things. For one it is supposed to get you the exact keywords you want. Second it should put you in the first spot as far as AdWords Page position is concerned. Additionally it is supposed to drive out the competition supposedly because it will drive up the cost of the bid causing your competitor to drop out of the competition assuming that he doesn’t have the money to compete with you. Obviously this is a strategy to try for those that have money; hence the reason I have not tried this strategy yet. J

AdWords Quality Score

Oh yeah, last but not least is the AdWords Quality score. The AdWords quality score is based on a number of different factors. But the most important would be relevance. Your AdWords Ad, Your Ad title, Your Display URL, The Destination URL, your landing page title and content MUST be Relevant! I repeat Your AdWords Ads and everything else must be RELAVANT! For example If your are selling a book, let’s call it “AdWords Strategies” for the sake of argument, then obviously the book is about AdWords strategies. You don’t want to select "earn extra cash" as one of your key words. You would want to choose AdWords, AdWords Strategies, PPC Strategies, How to use AdWords, How to be successful using AdWords, AdWords Success, earn extra cash with AdWords, earn cash with AdWords, AdWords e-book, Make money with AdWords, help with AdWords, AdWords Help, AdWords Advertising, AdWords Marketing, etc.. I think you get the point. AdWords is about relevance. Again I can’t stress this enough. You want to have the word “AdWords” as much as possible in the AdWords Ad headline and body, the display and destination URL and the Headline and body of the Landing page. This is probably the most important thing you will need when using AdWords Strategy. Glad I didn’t forget that.

P.S. One more thing you can try to improve your AdWords Quality Score is to Use the button that says Opportunities for Improvement when you first click on a campaign you have already created. It Helps!

Quick update: If your serious in taking your AdWords Campaigns to the next level you can see where I learned most of my AdWords strategies from at my AdWords Strategies Product Review Blog.

That's it for now. I'll have a product review site for AdWords Related tools, ebooks etc... I'll link it to my blog when it's done for those that may be interested. Make sure to come back for my next post. Free Methods of Advertising. That’s it for AdWords Strategies.

Earn Extra Cash with Adwords

What is Adwords?

Adwords is a marketing tool created by Google. It is also know as PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising. When you do a search on a subject and look at the results with Google, if it is a highly competitive market, you will see what’s called sponsored links located on the right hand side of the results and sometimes as the first results before the normal unpaid results start. You can pay to be on the first page of Google. Your ads may also be placed on other websites (that you can specifically choose) in general, and on googles content network which include sites like Ask.com.

Who Can Use Adwords?

Anyone can use Adwords. It’s only 5 dollars to set up, and you have the option of post billing or pre billing. Once you’ve set up an account you will have the option to set your account up as a starter or advanced edition. You can change this at any time and it’s free to do. The starter edition is easier to use when you begin but you will want to eventually switch to the advanced version (it has more bells and whistles).

Why Use Adwords?

Google’s Adwords program can be used for many different purposes (testing etc.), but I’ll just talk about advertising or marketing for now. So Why should you use Adwords? The bottom line is you want to get on the first page of Google. This is not the only way to generate traffic of course but arguably one of the absolute the fastest ways to generate traffic to your site. You don’t event have to have a site for that matter, you can send traffic directly to an affiliate link. The are millions of sites to choose from. You may have heard about bum marketing or article marketing by now, but the absolute way fastest way to make money online is with Adwords.

How Can My Ad Appear on Other Sites?

Other websites have what is called Adsense on their sites. This is how your site or advertisement will show up on other peoples websites. The owner of the sites that have Adsense get paid a portion of the advertising cost that you pay every time someone clicks on your advertisement.

How to Use Adwords?

When you first use Adwords you can either enter in keywords in the keyword tool or you can search what key words come up for a particular website that is in the niche that your trying to market. After you’ve found your profitable key words (low supply of sites and high number of searches) your ready to start a campaign. To start a campaign you will enter your advertisement Headline, then the advertisement, followed by the display site and then the actual then the actual site that viewer of your ad will be going to.

How Much Does it Cost to Use Adwords?

Cost will vary depending on how competitive your niche is. I f you have a highly competitive niche you will have higher cost, and lower cost for a less competitive niche respectively. You can choose to pay before or after your campaign and set up a daily budget to ensure that you don’t exceed the amount of money you have to spend. You will be charged each time a person clicks on your ad. This is what is know as cost per click or CPC.

This is just the basics for now. There are many different strategies that you can apply when using Adwords. Stay tuned for my next post “Adwords Strategies.”

Finding a Niche

What is a Niche?

A niche Is a low competitive market in a highly popular topic. It’s basically a small untapped market in short. What it boils down to is Supply and demand. If you low Supply and High demand then you should have a niche. This varies by opinion in the specifics as far as the numbers are concerned, however if your just starting out It may be a good Idea not to start in something that is highly competitive. For example even if you have a niche, you may not want to start in a market that has less than 80 million sites. It might be more prudent to start in a similar market with 3 million sites or less. In a word the best reason you want to find a niche is, "competition." The less competition the better.

How to Find a Niche?

Finding a niche as it relates to earning extra cash online has a lot to do with the competiveness of the keywords that your trying to use. For example “basketball”. Would be an example of a marketing category and “How to jump higher for basketball” or “Improving your jump shot” would be and be considered one of it’s niches. Basketball is way to broad of a topic for a beginner having something related to a more specific need would be best. One of the ways I use to check for keywords is Google AdWords Keyword tool. I go there and check the searches that were made for a keyword and then go to Google and see how many sites, with quotes, there are for that particular keyword. For example type in google's search "keyword". Use your own judgment on what keywords you feel would be best for you. However this can take a lot of time. If you are short on time many consider Keyword Elite to be one of the best tools available for you to do keyword research. After you’ve found a niche it’s best to see what kind of sites come up under the keywords you choose. If they're just information sites you may want to consider other keywords which have sites that are more geared to sales.

How do I Know If I Have The Right Niche?

This is a hard question to answer and the one of the only ways to find out is through trial and error. Even with research indicating that you have a niche to work in sometimes common sense will have to overrule all logical explanations. For example if you complete all of the steps of your marketing campaign are complete your site and you have your site well optimized for the search engines and are still not getting any sales then you might have the wrong niche. Only sales through time will tell. You might have the wrong product in the right niche. If you are using Clickbank then CBEngine really great way to help find out what products are hot right now. It might be that the content on your site is not knowledgeable enough or show enough passion to your potential client and therefore doesn’t establish a rapport. In addition many believe that it’s best to choose a niche in something that your are passionate about or have a lot of knowledge in because it makes it easier to write about. I my humble opinion it seems as though the best answer (after the numbers back this up) is having the right product at the right time in the right niche.

Fastest Ways to Get Rich

Fastest Ways to Get Rich

Here' my random blog thought on the fastest ways to get Rich.

1. Being happy with what you already have.

Being wealthy can mean many different things depending on who you are. Sometimes is not the money that counts. In some peoples eyes all you need is family or a clear state of mind all the wealth they need. (If your reading this your probably not).

2. Investing

Everyone knows Investing can make you rich. Investment Properties as well as stocks have proven to make many wealthy, just look at Donald Trump and Warren Buffett. Not sure if this is the way you want to go with the economy nowadays...

3. Education

Education is the fastest route from poverty to success as Robert Allen would say. Time is always your most valuable asset and education is your fastest way to get rich. Do what others have already done. In the information age there are so many ways to make money by helping others. I believe it was Zig Ziglar who said "You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want."

Internet Marketing

Internet Marketing vs SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

What's the difference? At first glance it may not appear to be much. After all Internet Marketing and SEO go hand in hand right? Not necessarily. Let me explain. SEO or Search Engine Optimization is the process of optimizing your site to rank well in the search engines for a particular subject, keyword, or market. Internet marketing however, while it does involve SEO, should not be viewed in the as the same. Does having your site on the number one in Google help? Of course it does. That's what you want to do, but to fully maximize the potential and increase the income from your site you want to Advertise as well- this is where internet marketing comes in.

Traditional Marketing

Marketing on the internet should be compared to marketing in any business. You want to get your site or blog out to as many poeple as possible, it's a numbers game. If you have your site on the number one spot on Google you'll get a lot of traffic (assuming you've already done your research on the niche you have chosen and are generating sales)and have a automatic cash machine. Would you like to increase your income? Why do you ask? Why not? Because you can. Your in the internet marketing business to make money after all so why not make some more. For an more reasonable example if you've got your site indexed but aren't getting much traffic due to heavy competition in page ranks(or maybe don't have your site indexed at all) you are going to want to advertise. Aside from AdSense there are other ways to drive traffic to your site for free for that matter.

Backlinks

In a lot of blogs and readings you may her about the topic of backlinks. Backlinks are links on another site that link back to yours. People often use backlinks for popularity in relation to page rank and to get there sites indexed. Why not consider using backlinks to increase traffic. Take my blog for example. As of this writing if you Google the term "Fastest ways to get rich" (without quotations) and go to the 1st page of Google of the search results you'll see an article I wrote under "Fastest ways to get Rich:GoAticles.com" in the 7th spot. Click on the article. At the end of the article you will see the link back to this blog. This is a backlink that I've created for free.

Here's a pic of what you should see.

Writing Articles

This is not a new method of marketing by any means. As you can see from the example above you can write an article and submit your website as the source. In some cases you may be able to place your affiliate links as the source and throughout the article as well. Writing articles can be an also be know as "Bum Marketing." It gets labeled the as the term " Bum Marketing" because it supposed to be so easy a bum could do it. A word of caution: be sure to check out the rules and guidelines before posting or submitting your article. Many article submitting sites do not allow you to put your affiliate link as a source or in the entire article at all. You can also do this in forums, online discussion groups, and Networking Websites as well.

The point is even if you have your site at number the number one spot on google (if your reading this you probably don't) you can still find ways to increase you income by marketing on the internet. Why would you want to miss out on opportunity to capitalize, especially if it's for free? For the beginner trying to learn how to make some extra cash hopefully this can clear up the fact that you don't need a site to make money online or even have your site indexed if you know the difference between SEO and Internet Marketing.
